How will social media change in the coming years?
A little story:
In 1995, the first social network Classmates appeared. Translated, this means "Classmates". This site is still working. Graduates of US educational institutions are sitting there. The social network ok.ru, which appeared in 2006 and quickly gained popularity, became the Russian counterpart. In the same year, the social network Vkontakte was opened, which also quickly gained popularity. In 2007 Meil.ru announces its social network “Moy Mir”. In 2006, Facebook went public. All users over 13 years old could register on it. Facebook was founded in 2004. At first, only students could communicate there.
When did the likes appear?
Likes started to be used on Facebook in 2010. This innovation became very popular and quickly spread to all other social networks. Not to mention reposts and comments.
Today, it is quite possible to say that social networks occupy a large share in our life. Every day people devote time to their pages. There we post photos, share judgments and our interests. We are evaluated there and we depend on these evaluations. Social networks have long been a part of our personalities. A page on social networks can have an impact on relationships with other people offline. Conversely, relationships with people offline can have an impact on relationships online.
Harsh virtual reality takes over us
We are all in our degree dependent on the assessment of others. In real life, we constantly evaluate each other according to various qualities. For example, kindness, modesty, courage, enterprise, openness, and so on. In virtual life there is a rating system called “Likes”. For example, the more likes a photo gets, the more attractive it becomes to other people. These likes often give a person an edge in real life too. You can post your own quote on social media. If she gets a lot of likes, then she will be shared and socially acceptable. You will be listened to! Do you understand how seriously social networks have taken root in society? It is quite possible to form public opinion and political sentiments through social networks. But let's not talk about politics. Let everyone draw their own conclusions on this topic.
Probable turn of events
In real life, there is a fairly wide system of assessing individuals and events. We are not talking about individual systems of assessing individuals. This is a generally accepted system of assessments, such as the inner qualities of people.
This is the yardstick we use to evaluate each other in real life. On the Internet, we rate each other with likes. Previously, there were no ratings on the Internet, but now there are “likes” and “dislikes”. Records can even be shared, so that others would evaluate them, using “like” and “dislike” measures. There are only 24 hours in a day and at least 1 hour of them we spend on social networks. Just think about it! Most of our attention is focused on social media. Roughly speaking, part of our life has moved into the virtual world. In social networks, we also remain human, but in electronic format. Since part of our life has gone to social networks, along with this part, a rating system entered social networks. Globally, the global and Russian Internet segment continues to develop and grow. There is a great future behind the Internet and we all know this very well. Social networks play an important role in the Internet segment, and will develop in the same way. We can safely assume that in the future, the rating system will expand on social networks. People profiles will be judged for qualities such as kindness, intelligence, honesty, objectivity, and so on.
How does this threaten the world?
In terms of the entire habitat, the internet is starting to adapt to the ecosystem. More precisely, the developers themselves adapt it. In the coming decades, the trend of the Internet segment will only grow. Computers are gaining and will be gaining computing power. Internet connection speed will also grow. Social networks will be able to embed more complex interfaces into their structures, while page load times will be fast. Social networks will continue to compete with each other, because it is primarily commerce. With the advent of more powerful computers and faster Internet connections, social networks will begin to implement more sophisticated rating systems. The page loading speed will increase, and this fact will reduce the time spent on social networks. This space will be replaced by a more complex grading system. The author can assume that this will happen in the coming years, most likely from 2023-2025.
